Your appointment begins with a consultation and patch test to assess your skin and hair type and set the right settings for you. The area is cleansed and shaved if needed, then cooling keeps you comfortable as the laser is passed over the skin. Most clients describe the sensation as a warm flick, with sessions ranging from a few minutes for smaller areas to around an hour for larger ones. Because hair grows in cycles, a course of six to ten sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart delivers the best results.

Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment and avoid waxing, plucking, or threading for four weeks beforehand, as the follicle needs to be intact. Avoid sun exposure and fake tan for two weeks prior, and arrive with clean skin free of deodorant and moisturiser. Afterwards, avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming, and intense exercise for 48 hours, apply a broad spectrum SPF 50 daily, and keep the skin well moisturised. Some redness around the follicles is normal and settles within a day. Your therapist will provide personalised aftercare advice.
